Miniature Pizza slices and more butter cookies in 1:12 scale

1:12 miniature mushroom and pepperoni pizza slices, air dry clay, acrylic paints, sealants

Heyo~! Here're more 1:12 items that I've made recently. I want to couple these slices with boxes and perhaps drinks, but I need to finish up some commission work first. Hope to do them when I get some free time!

1:12 miniature danish butter cookies, polymer clay, soft pastel, craft sand, sealant, paper, decals, Inkscape, tin

So, I've been getting quite a number (okay okay, maybe only 5 or so) of requests for similar versions of these tins since they were sold back in 2011 :O How time flies! Anyway, I decided to go with a more faithful approach so the cookies look more like their life-sized counterparts. The tins were purchased off greedbay, and I made the liners, cookies and graphics myself!

One of the tins is already spoken for, but I did make an extra, and it is available here:

=========================

The past week has been a little busier than usual, as I finished up 3 large-ish requests, also because Ahma had not been feeling well, and was warded for a few nights just to make sure she was okay. I'm really close to her, and it sent me into all sorts of horrible panic attacks and crying in my sleep. But she's okay!!! I usually monitor her pill-taking (she's taking like, 7 different pills a day), but she'll require closer monitoring for her blood pressure, which seems to fluctuate rather wildly throughout the day, thus causing her giddiness/dizziness. The docs have sternly warned her not to go out on her own anymore. For a spritely 87-year old, that's not good news, but it is a relief to the rest of us who've tried to no avail to keep her from gallavanting for quite some years now.... we'll see how long she'll behave until she sneaks out again....-_-"""""

Back to work!

1:6 scale miniature playscale 80s Singapore tidbits

=============================================
The DSLR won this round. I am still struggling with the settings, and the macro clip-ons. I suppose the photos look good from far, but are far from good T-T They'll have to do for now because I am a little busy!

The request was for 1:6 items, a rare request! They are double the size of the ones I made for a personal 80s Singapore project. Quite a number of people have asked where I had obtained the images, all the graphics were made by me using inkscape, referencing photos I had found online.

Yotsuba is 12cm tall, which makes her about 1:10 scale, so these are a tad large for her! They would be suitable for playscale dolls like Barbie. Pullip, Blythe etc, but I think my customer ordered them for possibly YoSD sized dolls? I really ought to put them with some Re-ment but eh, already packed them away hehehhe oops

1:6 scale miniature White Rabbit Milk sweets and Haw Flakes, polymer clay, paper, Inkscape, sealant, glue

1:6 scale miniature Mamee Noodle Snack, air dry clay, decal, plastic, paper, Inkscape, sealant, glue, acrylic paint

Some of these might not be familiar to those who aren't living in Southeast Asia, but I have had people reporting in from Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and even the USA who say they're still available in Chinatown areas! Wooo!

1:6 scale miniature seaweed rings, Spin potato snacks, air dry clay, acrylic paint, sealant, plastic

These were the most time consuming to make, and there are 50 pcs in each package. The Spin crackers used to taste and look slightly different from these when I was younger, and had a flavour other than MSG :X I miss eating them! They also came in a cone, not packaged like this. As for how do I do my plastic packaging, let's just say, I still fail alot and so am not confident in revealing my methods :( But you can try and be creative with an iron, just be careful! :X

GROUP SHOT! I hope she likes them :) I certainly enjoyed making them, quite a challenge!

I have also opened up a pre-order for the 1:3 Ramen and Udon bowls that were pretty popular, you can find more details here:

however there are only 2 bowls left, they were snapped up faster than expected, thank you all :)

Miniature Marie Antoinette inspired pastries - 1:12 scale miniature dollhouse scale

Do these look familiar to you? Yeah, it's more St Honore and other Marie Antoinette inspired pastries! But this time, in 1:12! And...polymer clay :)

The order was for 4 white St Honore, 1 pink Religieuse and 1 pink Nipple of Venus. I have done a version of the Religieuse and Nipple of Venus in larger, 1:4 scale before, but not out of polymer clay nor in 1:12. As usual, I made extras 'just-in-case' and for practice.

Top view of the Religieuse and Nipple of Venus pastries. The reference photo wasn't clear, and I couldn't find any other good references, so I came up with my own design, which included a touch of actual gold leaf.

Vanity shots! It's kind of difficult to show the little piping details on the 'fat nuns'....click to enlarge!

The spare bedroom will be converted to my workshop, and I think the theme for the flat will be Minecraft XD SHO EXCITING NA~ more exciting than planning for the wedding, which should be mid-next year. I think. Dad wants me to sit down and plan the list tomorrow...until he told me this afternoon, it never occurred to me that I would be the first of his kids to get married and that he would be interested in the nuts and bolts of it. *blinks*

Miniature Raw Salmon Cuts

1:12 miniature fish merchandiser/fridge display unit. Made out of acrylic and aluminum sheets. Still WIP. I want to add a signboard in the front, and maybe more refrigeration details, and perhaps a logo/brand for the fridge.

The idea all started with these little styrofoam plates. I had been meaning to make them since discovering the vacuumform method, however material wise, it's quite a pain to obtain them locally. The craft stores mainly supply 1mm thick PVC, and although styrene sheets are available, they are pretty costly in comparison. I made these out of polypropylene folders from Popular (a local chain of bookstores) :P PP is pretty tricky to work with, when compared with styrene and PVC for thermoforming, and the working temperatures can vary depending on the fillers etc. which means alot of wasted plastic (SORRY EARTH T-T)

not sure what i'm going on about? yeah me neither. lots of technical reading and i did fail my organic chem the first time round....so....:S who knew school would teach me valuable stuff that i'd need for minis? HA HA HA

right. so also fired up inkscape again to do the graphics for the labels (and the 'grill' details on the aluminum, no tools to do that sort of precision work....) - printed on decals, each one has a different weight and price but i'm not sure if you'd be able to tell anyway :( here're the cutlets...

and then, the fillets. OH and i also learnt about the colour differences in the different breeds of salmon. I love you Professor Google :D these are more "Sockeye" salmon coloured, and the pinker/oranger ones are 'pink' and...i forgets. :S

here are my prototypes....the first few I made looked more like cooked or "Chub" salmon....
(oh and yes, that's clingfilm, 'Extra Strong' according to the label)

and the prototype cutlets, which I thought were 'steaks'... again, probably looking more like poached salmon than raw ones. the oranger fillets at the back were the 2nd run, but wasn't translucent enough for my liking though I think they can pass for raw "King" salmon maybe. it's more the colour of salmon I get at sushi restaurants.

final try, and a new, larger size too ^ ^ and no, i did not use the caning method, these were detailed individually by hand out of polymer clay. though I did cut down a few steps by moulding the rough shape first, and finished off with acrylic paints for the rest of the details.

aaand, some of you who follow my Instagram might have seen this a few days back. the molding material I used is Oyumaru, from Daiso. it's some algae-based re-useable molding material that dentists use too. it's always a little strange returning to polymer clay after working on larger items and air dry clay for the past half-year or so. BUT HOW I MISS IT SO~ don't miss the aching and painful throbbing wrists and hands from conditioning it though :S

oh and it lights up too (odd place for lighting? yeah it is, but actually meant it for the signboard)! of course, couldn't have done this without this amazing tutorial from Pepper :D :D :D (remember to click on the tutorials tag for more of her other tutes, i want to try out -every-  -single- -one-.

so this is what i've got so far. will add more details as I figure out what else to add....BACK TO THE GRIND

Miniature Sweet Charlotte Cakes and Tarts

1:12 miniature fruity charlotte cake
The sweets are back! I made a few charlotte cakes a while back, but never took the time to photograph nor list them, however they are available now!
1:12 miniature creamy charlotte cake (this one is my fave!)

1:12 miniature raspberry chocolate charlotte cake

1:12 miniature cherry chocolate charlotte cake
(it's hard to capture the detail on this since it's so dark in the centre! the chocolate has little gold flecks on it...i might have to take a new photo with daylight.....

i tried something new, a square cake with visible insides (eh what's the correct term?) and this little one sold rather quickly! Thank you!

1:12 miniature kiwi tart, with a slice taken out of it

1:12 miniature mixed berries tart

I have also renewed some listings and taken new photos, some items have reduced prices as I need to clear some stocks and make way for 2013's listings ;)

Miniature Seafood Dishes

1:12 miniature seafood dishes

handmade by me out of polymer clay!

 Listed here -
https://www.etsy.com/listing/113640578/miniature-blood-cockles-112-scale

Ahma really likes this (as does my dad and bf, though they really shouldn't!)...each cockle is approx 2.5mm wide. This is quite popular in Singapore, am not sure how blood cockles are eaten elsewhere in the world, could anyone enlighten me?

I've shown this before, and have listed it -

https://www.etsy.com/listing/113640797/miniature-raw-oysters-112-scale

i don't enjoy raw oysters, but i think many people do?

I like this platter more, because there's tartar sauce, and cos it looks a little more colourful :)
