1:12 Miniature Dollhouse Bakery Box Printable!

Hey Everyone! I have made a few new printables, with a new colour, Deep Lavender :D They are currently available for immediate purchase/download at my Etsy store, do take a look!

https://www.etsy.com/shop/snowfern

They are now available at an introductory price, for a limited time only!

Thanks for looking! I welcome custom colour requests, just drop me a line via Etsy Convo and I will set up a custom listing for you (Please provide colour reference in jpg/gif/png format in the convo).

All my printables are for personal use only, but I have also been asked a few times if I would do customizations, or sell licenses for end products. Alas, full customizations are a too complicated to do, but if you would like minor customizations like changing of the word "Bakery" to your bakery name*, I might be able to do so.

* additional licensing costs may apply

Miniature Bubble Tea and Coffee

heyo~ I've just listed 11 different drinks on my Etsy (https://www.etsy.com/shop/snowfern), these are dollhouse miniature sized, and the first of my new range of takeaway drinks :) The covers are removeable!
(and that beautiful credenza/shelf is by Pepper of mitchymoominiatures.blogspot.com! the pictures i take can never do justice to how wonderfully made it is. anyway, you can see how beautiful it is in itself. ok i'll stop raving about it now.

where was i? oh yeah, hawking my wares. :P here's what i have listed, and i have plans to make more 'starbuck-y' types, with logos and all....but first let's go back to how this craze all started...

so, the 1:3 scale ones that i've been making for BJDs sell out pretty fast, and it gave me more motivation to try and make it in 1:12. the problem is getting the cups. i've not been able to find any suitable for use, and from personal experience with the vacuumform method, it's quite a b*tch to make. I've thrown away countless amounts of plastic (sorry :( ) and still need a bit of practice and refinement, but the first 2 drafts are pretty nifty, good enough to sell, so i'll leave it for now. rather, i'll leave it for as long as i can bear. XD

see? miniaturemaking for me is not a hobby nor a business, but of some obsessive necessity. gyarrrgh.

least it's cheaper and more effective than therapy. of which i think i need. so if ever you see my mini-work start to pick up at a frenetic speed, you know i'm driving myself batty. or the world is.

*deep breaths* okay. so moving on to whatever else i've been up to.

whilst taking photos, I cleaned up the old roombox made specifically for photoshoots and decided to re-do the windows. I have a great love for stained glass, but not for the overly ornate kinds. this is a first try and i will add more details to it later, or maybe do another set since it's easy to remove and re-slot for a different look/feel.

Left to right: Chrysnbon, gift from Sans!, Bozart, forgot, forgot, Re-ment.

the windows to the right are the older ones. as usual, made it out of PVC sheets and aluminum-sticker sheets from Daiso. The black lines are also sticky tape, cut to barely 1mm thickness. then while packing and dusting I brought out my collection of 1:12 chairs XD I cannot remember the brand of the designer chairs, they're pretty popular in the 'modern mini' world, can anyone help identify them? Thanks in advance :) I guess i love purchasing chairs cos they seem like too much precision work for me. but you know, some day i'll do it *insert WINNING meme graphic here* **specifically that baby with the clenched fist one**

i've also been busy with other things, BJD-wise, i guess not that much except for this skirt I made for Clover (should update over on clover-tea.blogspot.com, but it's not significant enough to warrant its own post) when Asuka came over after her long stay in Japan! YAY MISCHIEF!

so, there's also that little BJD-event where Asuka and I will be collaborating for the first time on a display :) You can view details on when and where the event is at here:

am revving up the motor and hope you stay tuned for this long-awaited event :) back to work!

(and say hi please, i'm feeling lonely :( )

Miniature Dessert Table in 1:12

I have been quite busy :) My plan originally was to make some Christmas items, but you know how easily OH LOOK BIRDY

chocolate range

pink and red range

if i could pick only one to eat......
it'd be a tough decision......
i would start small....
fresh fruit.....
or glace cherries?.....
woud fresh cherries be better? but what about all that chocolate :O
adding fruit to it doesn't automatically make it 'healthy!'
pure. temptation.

Getting into the mood for luuuurrrrvee....

I am feeling uncharacteristically romantic *shudder* this year. i blame the bf! he has been really, quite wonderful, and i know i don't tell him enough. *blush* but it's ok! i can say it here cos i know he doesn't read this blog unless i force him to HAHA :X

1:12 sauce dishes, yea i know they're poorly painted

poorly painted sauce dishes XD

poorly painted sauce dishes
look at my miserably painted sauce dishes XD ok the ones on the left aren't -that- bad. but the pink ones are....*shock shock horror* XD XD XD the paint clumped up and i got lazy, so i left it as such. i just wanted to see how it'd look with the colour scheme. i think i much prefer it plain white, or gold trimmed.

romantic colours

romantic colours 3

romantic colours 2
i recently listed some new colour schemes, and they seem to be rather popular ;) could barely catch up with making these, wrists and fingers are sore now XD

greasepaper cases in vellum

greasepaper cases in vellum 2

i've also brought back the plain cupcake cases ^ ^

you can find the cupcake liners at my etsy store! http://snowfern.etsy.com

what else have i been up to? hrmm. nought much. i'm supposed to work on a few requests, but as i've packed my stuff, i can't seem to figure out how to 'work' in this new space. right now i don't have a place to put the pasta machine, and that's bothering me a little T_T but i guess i'll finish up some requests tomorrow.

g'nite world!

Event report: The Doll Affair 2009

First off, I would like to say, THANK YOU SOOO MUCH to my generous customers and friendly faces I met today! I'm so sorry if i seemed out of sorts, i am, generally a rather....out-of-sorts person XD special shout out to SassyStrawberry for being my first customer! ^ ^ and i also want to apologize for not taking a pic of her beautiful booth, i swear i thought i did, must have totally slipped my mind when i got distracted chatting with you ; ; WAHH~~ well my blurry pics won't do any of her work justice, so go to her blog to see them :)

i will try and breakdown the events that happened today, oh boy it started out something awful.....

WARNING, long droning post ahead. with accompanying blurry pics. cos i suck even at PnS cameras. bleh.

7.40 am - woke up later than usual since i slept at 2 to finish up the signs/pricings. messed about with jewellery findings, which i should not have, since nobody even took a look at the charms :( Asuka called saying she's already there! :O we were expected to start setting up at 11!

10.30am - still standing by roadside desperately waiting for a cab

10.45am - cab company hung up on me after being put on hold while the 'system processes my request', apparently no cabs were nearby to pick me up from the rain that started at 10.35 ; ;

10.48am - rain stopped, called Asuka to whine about situation.

10.49am - flagged a cab -_-" cabby was chatty and friendly, i only started to get nervous as the cab turned the road to the drop-off point.....woah..?

11.05am - reached hall!

11.06am to 2pm - random blur events. cousin arriving and having to ditch her drink and smuggle subway sammiches (OH YES SUPPERTIME WOOT) in, journalist from local chinese papers with cameraman stopped by to ask questions all of which i replied in my usual rambly-nonsensical manner whilst trying to figure out how to complete my display. good thing cousin was there to help me set up or i'd never get anything done -_-" Jocelyn aka Aiclay WON!!!! i don't think she even realised it until i let out a whoop of surprise and joy that someone we knew won XD now she can have a dolly to make foods for XD LUCKY YOU i hate you and am so insanely jealous! imma sneak into your house and steal it....:P

i met also aki, terminal_insanity aka pecan demolisher, and i'm sure a few others also from sgcafe, again, i feel so apologetic for not being more available mentally and physically to catch up....i shall spam post in sgcafe LOL

since cousin did such a fabulous job, we went for a wonderfully satisfying japanese meal, my treat, and her first meal of the day (at 7pm :O ) ; ; i really felt bad about this. s'ok, i'll make up for it ^ ^

for a first event, i think it went fabulously well, i shouldn't have complaints, but i have of course, lessons to take away from this. this blog was set up to jot down my forays into mini-making and the adventures it has taken me to, and there's always some lesson to be learnt, right? biggest lesson i learnt was to NOT TAKE TAXIS FOR GRANTED. ok i'm kidding. but really, it shouldn't take me 1/2 hr to get a cab from a main road ; ;

k. i gotta keep positive. no griping. ok i'll gripe a little. nobody liked the sushi ; ; judging from the attention my wares got from the crowd, hardly anyone glanced at the sushi :O i was a little mortified since i'd spent so much time on them ; ; frankly, i kind of suspected it, since from various conversations i'd had with Madam Ang, the younger crowd tend to go for the pastries and pretties, the office crowd for gifts celebrating local cultures and hardly anyone went for sushi. paid heed, i did not ; ; but it was a challenge, and i enjoyed the process. and the macarons ahhhhhh i really wish i had more clay. which i shall have to remedy once i get some rest. i only sold 1 set, i guess i should have made them differently and in more pastel colours. but dammit all. i really am quite proud of the details on them. so there. :P

i'm going to take tomorrow off, and then finish up some orders for sales i made on my etsy. it's also going to be hectic next week, when i take photos of leftover stocks and prepare for some post-christmas sales. yea. this is just a reminder of what to do. oh and that interview with the local paper of course. HI YOU READING THIS! LOL oh boy, i pity her having to filter through my rubbish to get a coherent thought out of me XD i think she'd honestly have better luck with Asuka or Aiclay XD

eh i'm still rambling. HERE ARE THE BLURRY PICS. enjoy, and for those with lower bandwidths.....time to upgrade :X

uh. i checked the pics and i'm too tired to post them here. i'll post one of my booth (AHEM) and please CLICK HERE to see the rest! SORRY! i think the adrenaline has finally worn off. imma head to bed.

or here :P http://www.flickr.com/photos/snowfern/sets/72157622711743949/

if i didn't get the booth names right, please let me know, they changed the layout at the last minute so i wasn't sure and frankly i was really zonked out by the time i -had- time to take pics.

ARIGATOU GOZAIMASU TO ALL WHO CAME TO SUPPORT US! HOPE TO SEE YOU NEXT YEAR TOO!

Of flowers and butterflies

i am thinking of putting these up on etsy, but i might stress test a pair before offering any accessories, i do not like the idea that they might fall apart just after (or even before!) one wear.

i stuck the roses on with PVC glue, but i think i might need to reinforce them with superglue, anyone have any suggestions?

on a personal note, am just getting over a pretty bad bout of diarrhoea :( see what happens when you suffer from anosmia and do not know if what you're eating is spoilt? :( :( :(

busy busy busy!

apart from the demands of a tiny dog, i have been busy with creating mini cakes and tarts for a new friend i made, thanks to flickr!

here's a sneak preview...they're almost done :)

i thoroughly enjoyed it! i hope she will enjoy them as much as i've enjoyed making them. my brain is teeming with ideas! ^ ^ gotta go work on them now!
